- 1 過了許久，到第三 年，耶和華 的話 臨 到 以利亞 說：「你去，使 亞哈 得見你；我要降 雨 在 地 上。」
- 2 以利亞 就去，要使 亞哈 得見他。那時，撒馬利亞 有大 饑荒；
- 3 亞哈將他的 家 宰 俄巴底 召了來。（俄巴底 甚 是 敬畏 耶和華，
- 4 耶洗別 殺 耶和華 眾先知的時候，俄巴底 將一百個 先知 藏了，每五十 人 藏 在一個洞裡，拿餅 和水 供養他們。）
- 5 亞哈 對 俄巴底 說：「我們走 遍這地，到 一切 水 泉 旁和 一切 溪邊，或者 找得著 青草，可以救活 騾 馬，免得 絕了 牲畜。」
- 6 於是二人 分 地 遊行，亞哈 獨 走 一 路，俄巴底 獨 走 一 路。
- 7 俄巴底 在路 上恰 與以利亞 相遇，俄巴底認出他來，就俯伏 在 地，說：「你 是 我主 以利亞不是？」
- 8 回答說：「是。你去 告訴 你主人說，以利亞 在這裡。」
- 9 俄巴底說：「僕人有甚麼 罪，你 竟 要將 我 交 在亞哈 手裡，使他殺我呢？
- 10 我指著永生 耶和華─你的 神起誓，無論 哪 一邦 哪一國， 我主 都打發 人去找你。若說 你沒有在那裡，就必使 那邦 那國 的人起誓說，實在 是找 不著你。
- 11 現在 你 說，要去 告訴 你主人說，以利亞 在這裡；
- 12 恐怕我 一 離開 你，耶和華 的靈 就提你 到 我所 不 知道的地方去。這樣，我去 告訴 亞哈，他若找 不著你，就必殺我；僕人 卻是自幼 敬畏 耶和華的。
- 13 耶洗別 殺 耶和華 眾先知的時候，我將耶和華 的一百 個 先知 藏了，每 五十 人 藏在一個洞裡，拿餅 和水 供養他們，豈沒有 人將這事 告訴 我主嗎？
- 14 現在 你 說，要去 告訴 你主人說，以利亞 在這裡，他必殺我。」
- 15 以利亞 說：「我指著所 事奉 永生 的萬軍 之耶和華起誓，我今日 必 使亞哈 得見我。」
- 16 於是俄巴底 去 迎著 亞哈，告訴 他；亞哈 就去 迎著 以利亞。
- 17 亞哈 見了 以利亞， 便說：「使以色列 遭災 的就是 你嗎？」
- 18 以利亞說：「使 以色列 遭災 的不是我，乃是 你 和你父 家；因為你們離棄 耶和華 的誡命，去隨 從 巴力。
- 19 現在 你當差遣人，招聚 以色列 眾人 和 事奉巴力 的那四 百 五十個 先知，並 耶洗別 所供養 事奉亞舍拉 的那四 百 個先知，使他們都上 迦密 山 去見我。」
- 20 亞哈 就差遣 人招聚 以色列 眾 人 和 先知 都上 迦密 山。
- 21 以利亞 前來 對 眾 民 說：「你們 心持 兩 意 要到 幾時呢？若 耶和華是 神，就當順 從耶和華；若 巴力是 神，就當順 從巴力。」眾民 一言 不 答。
- 22 以利亞 對 眾民 說：「作耶和華 先知 的只剩下 我 一個人；巴力 的先知 卻有四 百 五十個 人。
- 23 當給 我們 兩隻 牛犢，巴力的先知 可以挑選 一隻，切成塊子，放 在 柴上，不要 點 火；我 也預備 一隻 牛犢 放 在 柴上，也不 點 火。
- 24 你們求告 你們神 的名，我 也求告 耶和華 的名。那 降火 顯應的 神，就 是 神。」眾 民 回答 說：「這話 甚好。」
- 25 以利亞 對巴力 的先知 說：「你們 既是 人多，當先 挑選 一隻 牛犢，預備好了，就求告 你們神 的名，卻不要 點 火。」
- 26 他們 將 所 得 的牛犢 預備好了，從早晨 到 午間，求告 巴力 的名 說：「巴力啊，求你應允我們！」卻沒有 聲音，沒有 應允的。他們在 所 築 的壇 四圍踊跳。
- 27 到了 正午，以利亞 嬉笑 他們，說：「大 聲 求告吧！因為 他是 神，他或 默想，或 走到一邊，或 行路，或 睡覺，你們當叫醒他。」
- 28 他們大 聲 求告，按著他們的規矩，用刀 槍 自割、自刺，直到 身體 流 血。
- 29 從午 後 直到 獻 晚祭的時候，他們狂呼亂叫，卻沒有 聲音，沒有 應允的，也沒有 理會的。
- 30 以利亞 對眾 民 說：「你們到 我這裡來。」眾 民 就到 他那裡。他便重修 已經毀壞 耶和華 的壇。
- 31 以利亞 照雅各 子孫 支派 的數目，取了 十 二塊 石頭（耶和華 的話 曾臨 到 雅各 說：「你的名 要叫 以色列」），
- 32 用 這些石頭 為耶和華 的名 築 一座壇，在壇的 四圍 挖 溝，可容 穀種 二細亞，
- 33 又在壇上擺好了 柴，把 牛犢 切成塊子 放 在 柴上，對眾人說：「你們用四個 桶 盛滿 水，倒 在 燔祭 和 柴上」；
- 34 又說：「倒第二次。」他們就倒第二次；又說：「倒第三次。」他們就倒第三次。
- 35 水 流 在壇的 四圍， 溝 裡也 滿了 水。
- 36 到了 獻 晚祭的時候，先知 以利亞 近前來，說：「亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的 神，耶和華啊，求你今日 使人知道 你 是以色列的 神，也知道我 是你的僕人，又是奉你的命 行 這 一切 事。
- 37 耶和華啊，求你應允我，應允我！使這 民 知道 你─耶和華是 神，又知道是你 叫 這民的心 回轉。」
- 38 於是，耶和華 降下 火來，燒盡 燔祭、 木柴、 石頭、 塵土，又 燒乾 溝 裡的 水。
- 39 眾 民 看見了，就俯伏 在 地，說：「耶和華 是 神！耶和華 是 神！」
- 40 以利亞 對他們 說：「拿住 巴力 的先知，不容 一人 逃脫！」眾人就拿住他們。以利亞 帶 他們到 基順 河邊，在那裡 殺了他們。
- 41 以利亞 對亞哈 說：「你現在可以上去 吃 喝，因為 有多 雨 的響聲了。」
- 42 亞哈 就上去 吃 喝。以利亞 上了 迦密山 頂，屈身 在地，將臉 伏 在 兩膝之中；
- 43 對 僕人 說：「你上去，向 海 觀看。」僕人就上去 觀看，說：「沒有 甚麼。」他說：「你再去觀看。」如此七 次。
- 44 第七次 僕人說：「我看見 有一小片 雲 從海 裡上來，不過如人 手那樣大。」以利亞說：「你上去 告訴 亞哈，當套 車下去，免得 被雨 阻擋。」
- 45 霎時間，天 因風 雲 黑暗，降下 大 雨。亞哈 就坐車 往耶斯列 去了。
- 46 耶和華的靈（原文是手）降 在 以利亞身上，他就束上 腰，奔 在亞哈 前頭，直到 耶斯列 的城門。

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
